audiences overwhelmingly favored David K. has gotten their hands on a the results of a worldwide casting survey performed for the role of Prince Dastan in Jerry Bruckheimer's upcoming Prince of Persia movie, and from the questions asked and the audience reaction it certainly looks like there is a clear front runner. But the thing is, there will be many people going to watch either one, regardless of racefail. Prince of Persia has more outward signs, set in Persia with Middle Eastern buildings, although Avatar is undoubtedly more Asian in terms of philosophy.
By sheer coincidence, two movies involving white lead actors in Eastern fantasy worlds will come out summer 2010. It makes me wonder whether there is going to be any change at all. Not that he has much lower to go after acting in Uwe Boll's Bloodrayne. End result? Acting as the bad guy opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. He changed his name from Krishna Bhanji to Ben Kingsley. Looking at Ben Kingsley's wikipedia page, I lol-ed. Even Pirates got its own fun logo and insignia, so why does Prince of Persia get Helvetica as its poster font? And Jake standing in front of clouds looking white and overly buff? But the design of the posters just washes away the Arabian Nights storybook aspect of the game. It's one of the best hopes for a videogame to film adaptation and could be compared to Pirates of the Caribbean, given that it probably will be the next big summer blockbuster, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. it's still Jake Gyllenhaal and Alfred Molina heh. My reactions are mixed because there clearly is a lack of Persians in the film and yet.
It has also been confirmed that Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley are joining the cast, with the latter acting as the evil Vizier.
